Onder impuls van Kunstwerkt openen meer dan 2.000 kunstenaars in Vlaanderen en Brussel hun atelier. Tijdens Atelier in Beeld bij Werkplaats Walter openen heel wat kunstenaars die hier werken hun deuren. Ontdek hun praktijken en veelzijdigheid, van schilderkunst, grafisch ontwerp, tekenkunst en weefkunst tot architectuur, multimediale installaties, fotografie en nog veel meer.

Under the impulse of Kunstwerkt, more than 2,000 artists across Flanders and Brussels open their studios to the public. During Atelier in Beeld at Werkplaats Walter, many of the artists working here will open their doors. Discover their practices and range, from painting, graphic design, drawing and weaving, to architecture, multimedia installations, photography and much more.

Van 11u tot 18u ben je welkom in de open ateliers van Amandine David, Anyuta Wiazemsky-Snauwaert, Arthur Boyer, Aurike Quintelier, Francesco Del Conte, Gert De Clercq, INFINITIF, Jesse van Dun, Kaat Lens, Maria Ferreira Silva, Marius Lefever, Renée Pevernagie, Romain Nadal, Sarah Duby, Seppe De Roo, Tim Bruggeman en Wannes Lecompte. Ook het gloednieuwe Gentse collectief Tapis Plein maakt je deel van hun werkproces met een open repetitie.

Onze bar is doorlopend open!

The brand-new Ghent-based collective Tapis Plein will also invite you into their working process with an open rehearsal.

Our bar is open non-stop.

In maart speelde Walter-resident Sam Comerford een prachtconcert met de Amerikaanse pianiste en componiste Myra Melford. Die dag kregen we ook bezoek van zes studenten van KASK & Conservatorium Gent. Samen met begeleiders Sam Comerford en Teun Verbruggen beten ze twee dagen de tanden stuk op een handvol composities van Melford, om vervolgens een memorabel concert te spelen diezelfde avond.

Jone Oosterlinck, Lara Camur, Noah Jordens, Rik Baeyens, Ferre Vankeirsbilck en Kasper Snellebrand besloten om hun samenwerking verder te zetten als Tapis Plein en komen op 2 mei repeteren in onze concertzaal. Deze open bandrepetitie is een uitgelezen kans om het creatieproces van deze muzikanten mee te maken. Zo ervaar je waar Werkplaats Walter ook voor staat: het ondersteunen van artiesten die volop hun praktijk ontwikkelen. Welkom!

In March, Walter resident Sam Comerford performed a beautiful concert with the American pianist and composer Myra Melford. On that same day, we also welcomed six students from KASK & Conservatorium Ghent. Together with mentors Sam Comerford and Teun Verbruggen, they spent two days intensely working on a selection of Melford’s compositions, culminating in a stunning concert that same evening.

Jone Oosterlinck, Lara Camur, Noah Jordens, Rik Baeyens, Ferre Vankeirsbilck and Kasper Snellebrand decided to continue their collaboration as Tapis Plein and will be rehearsing in our concert hall on May 2. This open band rehearsal offers a unique opportunity to witness the creative process of these musicians up close. It’s also a chance to experience what Werkplaats Walter also stands for: supporting artists who are actively developing their practice. Welcome!
